San Francisco says privacy will be preserved if Uber, Lyft provide trip data

( October 3, 2017, 01:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: In a filing with the California Public Utilities Commission, the San Francisco city attorney said that privacy fears raised by Uber Technologies and Lyft about turning over data about individual trips made within the city are unfounded. "Similarly, privacy concerns based on third parties cross-referencing the anonymous trip data are misplaced. Information disclosed to the City Attorney pursuant to Government Code Section 6254.5(e) will not be available to the general public," the office of City Attorney Dennis J.
