New clean-energy investment fund established by Breakthrough Energy Ventures, EIB, EU Commission

( May 29, 2019, 08:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Investment Bank, the European Commission and Bill Gates’ Breakthrough Energy Ventures have established a new 100 million-euro fund to support investment in clean energy technologies. The fund, which is set to start later this year, specifically targets electricity, transportation, agriculture, manufacturing and buildings as sectors in which “efforts are essential in fighting climate change,” the commission said in a statement. Countries associated with Horizon 2020, even if non-EU, will be eligible to apply for the funding. “This is pioneering work: aligning private and public investment in cutting-edge innovation, to the benefit of the Energy Union and our climate,” said Energy Union chief Maroš Šefčovič.European Commission - Press release...
