MyCC meets with association over compact fluorescent light cartel allegations

( March 9, 2015, 02:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Malaysia Competition Commission announced that it had met with the Association of Water & Energy Research Malaysia, or AWER, to discuss AWER’s allegation that there is an “element of cartel and profiteering” regarding the phasing out of compact fluorescent light lamps in Malaysia. But the CEO of MyCC said: “Similar prices offered by enterprises on their own are not anticompetitive in nature. An allegation of cartel has to be backed with some evidence of price fixing by the enterprises involved.”  The regulator's statement, in English, is attached....
