US trade office ordered to participate in assessing economic impact of undermining fracking

( November 3, 2020, 17:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Department of Energy — with the Office of the US Trade Representative's consultation — has been ordered to provide an assessment of the domestic and economic impacts of undermining hydraulic fracturing and other technologies. The report, to be issued 70 days after the Oct. 31 White House memo seeking the study, will contain the trade impacts of "prohibiting, or sharply restricting, the use of hydraulic fracturing and other technologies, including impacts on United States exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and other energy products, as well as exports of other commodities that may be affected by increases in transportation costs," the memo said.See document below. ...
