​PZ Cussons survives ACCC cartel appeal

( May 24, 2019, 06:04 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Laundry-detergent manufacturer PZ Cussons Australia has survived an appeal from the Australian competition regulator against an earlier Federal Court decision relating to alleged cartel conduct by the company. In a Full Court of the Federal Court today, judges dismissed the ACCC's appeal against a 2017 decision to dismiss the cartel case. The ACCC took action against Colgate, Cussons, Paul Ansell (a former Colgate executive) and Australian supermarket Woolworths in 2013, alleging the parties agreed to stop supplying standard-concentrate detergent in favor of ultra-concentrate detergent. Woolworths and Ansell were alleged to have been knowingly concerned in the arrangements reached between Colgate, Cussons and Unilever.The statement follows:...
