Croatia secures EU approval for extended Istrian Y highway concession agreement

( February 3, 2023, 11:50 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Croatia has won European Commission approval for its plans to prolong a concession agreement with company Bina-Istra for the operation and expansion of the Istrian Y highway, which links the Istrian region with the rest of the country. The concession — which was set to expire in June 2039 — will now remain in place until 2041 to allow the operator to carry out improvements worth 204 million euros, the watchdog said today, clearing the plans under the bloc's state aid and public procurement rules. Statement follows....
