Sub-contractor wins antitrust complaint in follow-on lawsuit in Chinese court

By MLex Staff ( November 3, 2020, 07:43 GMT | Insight) -- A sub-contractor has been granted compensation in its countercharge against one of the 10 concrete cartelists penalized by the provincial market regulator in Shaanxi province, a rare win in China's follow-on antitrust lawsuits. The Xi’an Intermediate People’s Court ordered Jiacheng Concrete to pay 1.43 million yuan ($214,000) compensation to its downstream customer Fujian Sanjian for breaches of China’s Antimonopoly Law.  A Sub-contractor has been granted compensation of more than 1 million yuan in its countercharge against one of the concrete cartelists in Shaanxi’s administrative penalty case....
