Nvidia entitled to more details on reverse engineering for claimed Valeo trade secrets, US judge says

By Melissa Ritti ( October 21, 2024, 18:35 GMT | Insight) -- A discovery dispute between Nvidia and Valeo Schalter und Sensoren GmbH has led a US judge to order the German tech company to supplement its response to an interrogatory on whether an artificial intelligence-enabled automated driving solution is capable of being reverse engineered. Valeo, which sued for trade secret misappropriation last year, unsuccessfully argued that the burden of proving independent development of the popular “Drive” system-on-a-chip rests with Nvidia. Allegations Nvidia reverse engineered a Valeo Schalter und Sensoren GmbH trade secret directed at artificial intelligence-based automated driving functions must be bolstered if they're to remain viable....
