Hygiene-paper maker WEPA contests EU's order to recover electricity network charges

( October 30, 2020, 14:16 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: WEPA Hygieneprodukte, WEPA Leuna and WEPA Papierfabrik Sachsen appeared at the EU's first-tier court today, to contest a 2018 European Commission decision which found Germany's full exemption from network charges — granted to some large electricity users in 2012 and 2013 — to be illegal. The commission therefore ordered Germany to recover the unpaid sums. For the purposes of today's hearing, the General Court has issued a report setting out the background of the dispute.
