Alstom settles bribery claims, signs deferred prosecution agreement

( December 22, 2014, 17:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: French energy multinational Alstom has disclosed that it has reached an agreement with the US Department of Justice to resolve allegations of a widespread  bribery scheme spanning multiple continents and running for over ten years. As part of the settlement the company will pay a criminal fine of $772,290,000. Two US subsidiaries, Alstom Power and Alstom Gridhave , have entered into a deferred prosecution agreement relating to FCPA charges whereby if they comply with the terms included in the agreement for a period of three years, all criminal charges will be dropped against them.  Read the full statement below:...
