Seoul court upholds $1.7m dominance abuse fine for KT

( May 13, 2016, 03:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Seoul High Court has upheld a decision by the Korea Fair Trade Commission to impose corrective orders and fines of 2.08 billion won ($1.78 million) on KT for abusing its market dominant position. The company planned to produce 200,000 tablet PCs and asked its partner company, Enspert, to produce 30,000 PCs first. After receiving the products, KT ordered another 170,000 tablet PCs worth 51 billion won in Sep. 2010. However, due to poor sales, the company canceled the second order unilaterally in March 2011. The commission imposed sanctions in April 2014 and the company filed an appeal against the penalty but the court dismissed it. The regulator's statement, in Korean, is attached....
