Chile's FNE issues recommendations to improve competition in funeral market

( January 31, 2023, 20:16 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Chilean competition authority has published a study on funeral markets, with nine recommendations to ensure competition in the sector, including eliminating barriers and improving regulation of the sector. The Fiscalía Nacional Económica, or FNE, also recommended that the purchase of funeral goods and services be made separately by the consumer, and that the contracts between consumers and cemeteries be supervised. Other recommendations include regulating the anticipated sale of funeral services and regulating the technical characteristics of coffins to allow the entry of new players.FNE press release follows in Spanish.
