Companies can avoid exceeding de-minimis state aid ceiling, EU court says

( October 28, 2020, 11:56 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Companies asking for state support can take corrective actions to prevent exceeding the "de minimis" state aid ceiling, the EU Court of Justice has said. Such companies can either reduce the project costs or forgo previous aid to stay below the 200,000 euro threshold, the court said. "De minimis" aid doesn't need to be approved by the European Commission. The EU court ruling answers questions raised by judges in Veneto, Italy, where the National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work (Inail) and the company Zennaro are clashing over an application for funding that was rejected because Zennaro exceeded the maximum allowed sum.The judgment in case C-608/19 Inail is attached....
