US Supreme Court must now review Section 232 national security tariff challenge, foreign trade group says

( May 17, 2019, 20:51 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The National Foreign Trade Council has asked the US Supreme Court not to wait for the lower appeals court to finish reviewing a constitutional challenge against the Trump administration's steel and aluminum tariffs, imposed for national security purposes under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962. "The unguided, unconstrained decision of the President is causing severe economic damage within the United States ... The Court should not let those costs mount while the [US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit] considers the case," the council said in an amicus brief supporting the challenge before the nation's highest court.See document below....
