Philips sees EU court uphold rejection of antitrust complaint from lighting associations

( July 13, 2022, 09:48 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: An antitrust complaint against Koninklijke Philips by two lighting associations was correctly rejected by the European Commission, the EU's General Court ruled today. Judges dismissed an action by Design Light & Led Made in Europe and Design Luce & Led Made in Italy which had complained to the EU antitrust regulator that Philips was illegally exploiting its intellectual property rights. The commission was right to conclude that there was little likelihood of establishing a breach of antitrust rules and that the necessary resources to investigate would be substantial and disproportionate, judges said.The ruling is attached in Italian.
