​US opposes motion by Maduro official for restitution to Venezuela

( May 17, 2019, 22:16 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Funds allegedly embezzled from Venezuela's national oil company and laundered into the US shouldn't be returned to Venezuela through channels established by associates of Nicolas Maduro, the US Justice Department said, saying the US doesn't recognize Maduro as the president of Venezuela. Maduro's attorney general had asked a US district judge to return the money to Venezuela in a case where bribery allegedly was paid to officials in a scheme to embezzle the funds.See attached document....
