Swedish telecom Telia enters deferred prosecution agreement to settle US bribery charges

( September 21, 2017, 14:34 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Swedish telecom Telia has entered into a three-year deferred prosecution agreement with the US Department of Justice. The agreement requires Telia to pay $548.6 million to resolve allegations that it paid bribes to win cellular frequencies and other considerations in Uzbekistan. The payment includes a $500,000 criminal fine and a $40 million forfeiture to be paid on behalf of Telia's Uzbek subsidiary Coscom. Telia can receive a credit for up to $274 million that it is expected to pay Dutch prosecutors in a joint settlement.Please see attached document....
