SS&C gets SEI Global's antitrust claims over accounting software dismissed

( October 23, 2020, 22:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: SEI Global Services failed to plead a proper basis for its attempted monopolization claim or to establish antitrust standing in its case against SS&C Advent, US District Judge Chad Kenney said. SEI accused rival portfolio accounting provider SS&C of limiting competition by prohibiting access to its Advent portfolio accounting software. Kenney determined that while SEI’s injury flows from the termination of a longstanding contract after SS&C acquired Advent, that does not mean SEI sought to drive SEI from the market or discipline it for competing. Additionally, Kenney said the software is not essential for SEI to do business, nor is SS&C likely to obtain complete market control.
