Skating’s governing body tells EU's top judges event-authorization rules were just

By Lewis Crofts ( July 11, 2022, 11:06 GMT | Insight) -- The International Skating Union has told the EU’s top court that on-site betting at a Dubai-based event threatened the integrity of the sport and therefore a "pre-authorization" procedure for rival competitions was needed. In a case that will affect the powers of sport governing bodies, the ISU is trying to overturn a 2020 ruling that it had broken antitrust law with eligibility rules for athletes taking part in other events.
