EU shift to zero-emission vehicles needs many more charging points, carmakers say

( April 29, 2024, 12:37 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: EU carmakers will need eight times more charging points per year between now and 2030 to keep up with demand if the bloc wants to meet its CO2 targets, says a report by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association. The lobby group's study also claims that the EU's target of 3.5 million charging points by 2030 will be insufficient, giving its own estimate of 8.8 million instead.Statement follows....
