Eletrobras bribery probe prompts halt of nuclear plant work, possible delisting

( August 17, 2016, 15:40 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Eletrobras, Brazil's national utility company, said Wednesday in its  6-K filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission that its ongoing internal probe of allegations related to the "Operation Car Wash" bribery scandal has been slowed by legal considerations that have left it unable to estimate the possible impact on the company and, therefore, unable to file F-20 forms with the SEC in a timely fashion. As a result of its failure to file, Eletrobras faces delisting from the New York Stock Exchange; the company's appeal of the delisting decision will be heard in October.
