Denis Redonnet also said that the EU will continue protecting its steel sector after the expiration in 2026 of the safeguard measure and it will “systematically” challenge at the World Trade Organization what it sees as unjustified Chinese probes against EU exports.The European Commission has been facing an increasing demand from the bloc’s industry for punitive duties on imports of chemical products in addition to steel and electric vehicles, a top official overseeing the EU’s trade defense investigations has said.
