Ohio State University looks to dismiss student athlete antitrust case

( September 18, 2017, 22:29 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Ohio State University filed a motion asking US District Judge Michael H. Watson to dismiss claims that it conspired to not compensate student athletes for the use of their likenesses in violation of antitrust laws. The university says that it has state action immunity because it is a state school and therefore, the case should go to state court. The university also says that the complaint fails to allege how any provisions in the university's routine contracts improperly fix prices or limit the plaintiff from exercising his own intellectual property rights.See document below. ...
