Facebook data breach prompts French regulator to warn users of 'phishing' attempts

The Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés, or CNIL, said Facebook users should not consult the file with the leaked information, but should change their Facebook passwords and remain vigilant about phishing attempts. The CNIL said it will cooperate with the Irish Data Protection Commission to verify the circumstances of the data breach and Facebook's response, such as how the company has informed users about the breach and what security measures have been implemented before and after the leak to reduce the risks to affected users.Statement follows....
