DOJ seeks $1.47 million forfeiture from Chad ambassador and wife in alleged oil deal bribery

( July 8, 2014, 22:32 GMT | Official Statement) --  MLex Summary: The US Department of Justice filed a forfeiture complaint against $1.47 million held for the benefit of Mahamoud Adam Bechir that was allegedly paid by Griffiths, a Canadian oil firm, for Bechir to use his influence as Chad's ambassador to the US to help Griffiths obtain oil concessions in Chad.
