China's Shenzhen to implement management rules on smart connected vehicles in August

The rules apply to autonomous vehicles of L3 to L5 autonomy levels in the city, according to the rules promulgated by the local legislature recently. The municipal government will select certain districts with relatively good vehicle-to-roadside facilities and open all roads there for road resting and example implementation, as well as piloting commercial operations. Smart connected vehicle makers are required to locate servers for data storage within China and a ban will follow on exporting data without permission. The rules prohibit illegal processing of personal data; collection of information irrelevant to vehicle driving and transportation security; and collection of information concerning national security.The statement, in Chinese, follows: ...
