Federal prosecutors in Paraná state file two complaints against 20 individuals in Petrobras scandal

( May 6, 2016, 18:41 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Federal prosecutors in Paraná state today filed two complaints against 20 individuals as part of ongoing investigations into corruption and kickbacks at state-controlled Petróleo Brasileiro, or Petrobras. One of the complaints involve former Senator Gim Argello, three executives from construction companies Odebrecht, UTC Engenharia and OAS, plus six other individuals. Argello is under investigation for having allegedly received bribes to stall a parliamentary inquiry into bid-rigging by construction companies on contracts for Petrobras in 2014. The other complaint involves Ronan Maria Pinto, who allegedly received part of a fraudulent loan made by Banco Schahin on behalf of the Workers' Party. That complaint also involves other eight individuals. A federal court in Paraná will decide whether to accept the complaints.Statement follows in Portuguese....
