Chinese platform Temu ordered to answer EU questions on product safety, recommender systems (update*)

The information request concerns Temu's efforts to stop traders from selling illegal products, the subject of consumer organizations' complaints. The European Commission also wants details on its recommender systems and how it protects users' health and their personal data. Temu must reply by Oct. 21 and could be fined if it fails to do so.
