​Brazilian officials include association, company in utility-meters cartel probe

( May 20, 2015, 13:38 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Antitrust officials have included the Brazilian Association of Electrical and Electronics Industry, FAE Ferragens e Aparelhos Elétricos and seven people in a cartel probe involving utility-meter manufacturers. Abinee, FAE and the others have 60 days to present a defense. In March, Brazil's regulator reached settlements with companies Eletra Indústria e Comércio de Medidores Elétricos, Landis+Gyr Equipamentos de Medição and Elster Medição de Energia. They agreed to pay a total of 18 million reais ($5.9 million) and to cooperate with the investigation.Statement follows in full....
