Agravis/Danish Agro, Getreide AG deal cleared by German regulator

( May 20, 2015, 10:07 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Bundeskartellamt has cleared plans by Agravis Raiffeisen and its Danish partner Danish Agro to take over parts of the agricultural trading business of Getreide AG, including seed and feed production facilities. Clearance came after the parties decided to exclude nine locations from the takeover package. The measures ensured that farmers would have sufficient alternatives to sell their crops and to buy products such as fertilizers, pesticides and seeds, the competition regulator’s chief Andreas Mundt said. The deal would have otherwise significantly restricted competition, creating dominant positions in northwestern parts of Brandenburg as well as Saxony, the authority said.Full statement follows in the German original:...
