( July 6, 2022, 16:18 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Twitter has violated several articles of the EU's data protection rules but has avoided a fine from the Irish Data Protection Commission. The authority issued a "reprimand" to the social-media platform for its handling of a user's request to erase an account after it had been suspended. The Irish DPC said Twitter failed to comply with the request "within the statutory timeframe" and should not have required a copy of photographic ID when fulfilling a data erasure request.
