Singapore regulator issues stern warning to Singtel over ad campaign vs competitors

( May 18, 2015, 07:21 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore has issued a stern warning to the country’s largest mobile operator, Singapore Telecommunications Limited, or Singtel, over a negative marketing campaign handled by the marketing agency Gushcloud against its competitors M1 and StarHub. The statement was in response to reports that a brief for a social media campaign for Singtel surfaced, inviting influencers to slime the competitors. IDA stressed it will not tolerate such practices and required Singtel to put in place the necessary measures to ensure appropriate management oversight and control over its marketing and advertising campaigns in order to prevent future such incidents....
