Bed Bath & Beyond CEO Temares steps down in face of activist shareholder opposition

The announcement comes as the retailer is engaged in a dispute with a group of shareholder activists headed by Legion Partners, who have nominated a slate of directors for the company's board. The shareholders have blamed Temares for the company's long-term underperformance compared to its peers. The company said in a statement that Mary Winston, who joined the Bed Bath & Beyond board of directors last month, will serve as interim CEO.Full statement follows....
