Former Agung Podomoro Land CEO faces jail for allegedly bribing Jakarta councilor

( August 11, 2016, 04:30 GMT | Insight) -- Prosecutors at Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission, or KPK, have demanded that the Jakarta Corruption Court sentence property developer Agung Podomoro Land's former CEO, Ariesman Widjaja, to four years in jail and a fine of 250 million rupiah ($19,067) for allegedly bribing Jakarta councilor Muhammad Sanusi in relation to a reclamation project in Jakarta Bay, Tribunnews reports. Prosecutors at Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission, or KPK, have demanded that the Jakarta Corruption Court sentence property developer Agung Podomoro Land's former CEO, Ariesman Widjaja, to four years in jail and a fine of 250 million rupiah ($19,067) for allegedly bribing Jakarta councilor Muhammad Sanusi in relation to a reclamation project in Jakarta Bay, Tribunnews reports. Widjaja's personal assistant, Trinanda Prihantoro, may face three-and-a-half years in jail and a fine of 200 million rupiah if found guilty in the case. The prosecutors accused the two men of bribing Sanusi in order to reduce the company’s contribution to the Jakarta city government based on property sales on the reclaimed land....
