Zillow-Trulia probe showed real-estate agents had many ways to advertise, commissioners say
( February 19, 2015, 23:36 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Federal Trade Commission's antitrust investigation of Zillow's proposed buyout of rival online real-estate site Trulia revealed that real estate agents have many ways to advertise their services and wouldn't be subjected to higher ad rates after the merger, according to a statement Thursday from Commissioners Maureen Ohlhausen, Joshua Wright and Terrell McSweeny. The staff concluded the sites got a small percentage of the agents' overall budget for advertising and didn't find much of a relationship between Zillow's advertising rates and Trulia's presence in a particular geographic market, the commissioners said.See attached document....
