UK cashback websites unclear again on cookies as privacy watchdog removes ‘misinterpreted’ guidance

Industry bodies had seen it as proof that the companies were exempt from requiring consent under data privacy laws if they met certain criteria. The guidance will be amended shortly, the Information Commissioner's Office told MLex.UK "cashback" and rewards websites such as TopCashback and Reward Gateway are again without clarification from the UK privacy regulator on cookie consent after it today removed some of a guidance note published online last week....
