Shanghai hotels the first in China to suspend use of facial recognition at check-in

The local public security bureau recently issued a notice banning mandatory facial recognition for guests when they check in at a hotel and will require prior notification and consent from the traveler if the technology is used in a situation where the traveler forgets to bring ID....
