British Airways fined GBP20 million over GDPR violation, UK's highest to date

The airline failed to put appropriate security measures in place, leading to a data breach that affected more than 400,000 customers, the Information Commissioner's Office said in a statement today. While this is highest GDPR-related fine handed out in the UK to date, the amount has been substantially revised down from the 183 million pounds initially proposed by the ICO last year.
