Corel seeks to force deposition of Gates in patent dispute with Microsoft

( August 4, 2016, 22:36 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Corel has filed a motion asking US District Judge Jill Parrish to reopen evidence discovery in order to depose Microsoft founder and former chairman Bill Gates. "Microsoft’s infringement of Corel’s patents was willful. Documents and testimony confirm that Microsoft’s senior leadership, including Mr. Gates, knew of Corel’s RealTime Preview feature as early as 1998, and considered it an 'innovation,' ” Corel said in the motion.
