US judge enjoins California law regulating use of AI during elections, citing First Amendment protections

( October 2, 2024, 14:42 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A federal judge in California enjoined a California law regulating the use of generative AI "deep fakes" during elections, AB 2839, because the law is potentially unconstitutional and don't pass strict scrutiny because there likely could have been a less-restrictive way to depict "deep-fake" images online.
