By Freny Patel ( April 17, 2024, 08:31 GMT | Insight) -- South Korea's Shinhan Bank has sought India's nod to acquire an 11 percent stake in the country's top student-loan company HDFC Credila Financial Services. In its merger filing, the bank requested the Competition Commission of India to "unconditionally" approve the transaction "at the earliest." This will be the South Korean bank's first equity investment or stake acquisition in India.
