Citrus-cartel probe referred to CADE's Tribunal for final ruling following investigators' recommendations

( September 6, 2017, 21:18 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Brazilian antitrust investigators have dropped a citrus-cartel probe against Frutax Indústria e Comércio and Grupo Montecitrus and 11 individuals for lack of evidence, according to a statement disclosed in the case file. Additionally, the Superintendence of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense, or CADE, has recommended that the agency's Tribunal remove Cambuhy Citrus Comercial e Exportadora and CTM Citrus from the probe because they no longer exist. The Superintendence also recommended that the probe be closed against all companies and individuals that settled the case, including whistleblower Paulo Ricardo Soares da Cunha Machado.
