AI non-profit wins German court ruling in decisive copyright case on image scraping

Last week's ruling by the Hamburg Regional Court could lead to creators, such as the photographer Robert Kneschke, having less control over the use of their work for AI training. A photographer's complaint against the use of one of his copyrighted — yet publicly available — images for AI training purposes has been dismissed by the Hamburg Regional Court (see here). ...
