Syngenta-Nidera deal cleared with structural conditions in Argentina

( January 10, 2023, 21:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Syngenta Crop Protection's acquisition of Nidera's seeds business has been approved with conditions by Argentina's competition authority and by the national Commerce Secretary, according to a statement. The National Commission for the Defense of Competition, or CNDC, said the parties have committed to divest certain assets in the sunflower seed market where their combined shares would exceed 60 percent. Among the assets to be divested are Syngenta's germplasm intellectual property, as well as trademarks Super Paraíso and the commercial name Aromo.
