US Commerce begins anticircumvention probe on diamond sawblades and parts from Canada

( May 3, 2019, 20:24 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Department of Commerce has initiated a review on whether Canadian company Protech Diamond Tool's exports of diamond sawblades and parts avoided existing antidumping duties assigned to imports from China, the agency announced in the Federal Register. The Diamond Sawblades Manufacturers’ Coalition petitioned for the inquiry in December 2018. "The petitioner contends that, in Canada, cores made in China are being joined to segments made in China and undergo a minor welding operation and minor processing before they are imported into the United States," the agency said.See document below....
