This lineup will continue in the New Year, but there will be a notable change with an expansion of the regulatory clout at the Cyberspace Administration. Meanwhile, judicial protection is expected to widen with Chinese courts placing a priority on personal-information cases and prosecuting offices becoming increasingly aggressive in lodging public-interest lawsuits. Several key pieces of legislation will also come into force in the year ahead.
