Tailings treatment firms fined in bid-rigging case

( August 1, 2016, 08:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Korea Fair Trade Commission has decided to impose corrective orders and combined fines of 541 million won ($488,311) on Sanha E&C and CMC, which stand accused of bid rigging. The companies allegedly colluded on a bid ordered by South Korea's Mine Reclamation Corp in February 2013. The tender was held to find companies to deal with tailings left over from the mining of ore. CMC allegedly submitted uncompetitive bids to allow Sanha to win the tender. The commission said such conduct was a violation of Clause 19 of the Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act. The regulator's statement, in Korean, is attached....
