French court rejects constitutionality challenge of law imposing child-protection measures on porn websites

( January 6, 2023, 15:42 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: France’s Supreme Court has rejected a request by five pornography websites to examine the constitutionality of a French law, which obliges them to install measures to prevent children from accessing such sites. The court said in a ruling today that there's no need for the Constitutional Council to rule on a constitutional question focused on freedom of expression rights and the proportionality of the 2020 French measure to protect minors from accessing pornographic websites.Full decision is attached....
