PPF Group, Nordic Telecom merger gets conditional nod in Czech Republic

( September 30, 2024, 12:43 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: International investment group PPF TMT Holdco, which operates in the country through O2 Czech Republic and Cetin, may acquire sole control of Nordic Telecom Regional, the Czech competition authority said today. To win approval, the group offered to maintain its existing wholesale offer in over 240 towns for a period of five years, or to develop a new offer based on the one in force. The group also committed to offer these services at reasonable prices, along with providing non-discriminatory access to all interested parties. The authority had found that there were serious antitrust concerns in the market for fixed retail Internet access in 243 cities where the companies’ activities overlap.Statement follows (in Czech). ...
