EWE, Deutsche Telekom agree joint fiber expansion in northwestern Germany

( December 13, 2017, 14:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: German telecom operators EWE and Deutsche Telekom have agreed to a joint rollout of fiber-optic broadband to a million homes, in the form of a joint venture. The rollout will target homes in the states of Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia and Bremen, with each operator taking a 50 percent stake. The rollout will take 10 years to complete from the launch in mid-2018, focusing on rural areas, and each operator is investing 2 billion euros.
